The weather has been very nice this week. Average high in the high 70s. Very little precipitation.
We started hanging sheetrock on the 1st floor Monday. They should be finished hanging by the end of the weekend.
Granite was delivered on Friday the 16th.
David Kulp has been setting and spreading the granite throughout the building all this week.
They started setting door frames last week. The 4th, 3rd and 2nd floor frames are all set other than the closet frames.
Tile was delivered at the end of last week. Tile setters came in Tuesday. They have the 4th and 3rd floor set in the bathrooms and vending areas.
The stub walls were built in rooms 318 and 418 on the 23rd of this month.
90% of the back of the building is bricked and cleaned. The south end of the building is bricked and cleaned. They’re moving scaffolding around to the front of the building.
All of the ptacs and vpacs are set other than two on the first floor.

We passed first floor inspection today. G&S is insulating the the walls and ceilings and we'll be loading in rock tomorrow.
Door frames and doors are being installed on the 4th and 3rd floors.
The automatic doors are being installed in the entry way.
The masons are 90% finished with the brick in the back of the building. 30% finished with the sides and have about 6 feet up around the front of the building.
The EIFS is being brown coated on the Porte Corchere.
Glen's crew is spreading dirt and filling in the islands and behind the curbs.
The peirs for the parking light poles have been poured and are ready to have the polse set on them.
The Plumber moved the 1/2" cold water supply for the ice machine to the other side of the dividing wall in the vending areas on the 4th and 3rd floors.

The 4th floor is textured and painted and looks very nice. The 3rd floor is textured and all the rooms are painted out. The corridor has to be sanded and primed. Most of the electrical boxes, data boxes and cable TV boxes are trimmed out on those two floors. We're getting ready to seal the bathroom floors and be ready for the tile.
The 2nd floor is being textured right now. It will be painted out next week along with the 3rd floor corridor.
The 1st floor is starting to move along. All of the duct work has been delivered for that floor and is being installed now. The mechanical rooms are being built and misc. framing is going on as well.
The brick will begin this coming week. The EIFS crew is about to finish all they can do for now.
Lighting is being delivered and they're beginning to install those.
The PTACs and VPACs have been delivered and are staged throughout the building.
Our mechanical room has passed inspection and we have our temporary power permit.

It's President's Day, so the city offices in Conway are closed. We won't be able to get the 3rd floor inspected until tomorrow.
Freedom Fire has put 200 lbs of pressure on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors and they all held fine. They will come back for the first floor in a couple of days.
Moses Mechanical is on the 2nd floor running duct for exhaust fans and hear and air for the corridor.
Moses Plumbing is setting tub valves on the 2nd floor and getting ready to set tubs.
Bailey Electric is puttying all their boxes on the 3rd floor.
NK Plastering is finished putting color on the north side of the building. They are taking down their scaffolding.
Southland is putting in blocking on the 4th floor and working on the porte corchere.
Greg with Custom Glass came by with the fellow from the automatic door company to get measurements on the store front doors. Greg had told us to just frame the opening at whatever width and they would have the door built to that size. Today they told Alex that he needed to have 5' of clearance for the doors. So he will have to make some adjustments.

Southland is workinf on the Porte Corchere in the front of the building. There were a few VTAC closets on the 2nd floor that were framed wrong. Alex got them to change them around to the right spot. The got in fixed in no time.

We couldn't get the inspectors out here today. It'll be tomorrow before they can make it out.

Paul Young, Conway building inspector, came by to look at the 3rd floor. We had some draft stop issues and a little bit of pre rock and fire tape that needed to take place at the ends of the corridor. He said to take care of that and go ahead and insulate and he would reinspect tomorrow.
Tricon Drywall took care of the pre rock and fire tape issues.
I had my guys take care of the draft stop issues.
Southland Framing is working on the Porte Corchere and the front porch. They got the rafters hung for the porch.
GS Insulation worked late and insulated the whole 3rd floor.
Todd came over to move some loads of sand that someone had dumped right in out way.
Moses Plumbing is running copper down from the 2nd floor
Moses Mechanical is running duct work on the 2nd floor.
I spent all day working numbers and openings for the granite tops.

The EIFS should finish with the back of the building this week and be ready to do the dormers.
John met with all the MEP supers this morning to discuss the 2nd and 1st floors.

Advanced Surfaces set up their equipment in the back of the building and ran hoses up to the 4th floor.
Seize Signs set rebar and put together the anchor bolts for the pylon sign. I unloaded the poles off of the truck for them.
Jon Wilsie and his roofing crew came and put the EPDM on the flat roof areas.

Ron White, Conway building inspector, came and reinspected the 4th floor. He said we have to build cat walks to both exhaust units in the attic. we also have to pour light weight concrete in the exhaust duct chases in the closet.
Moses Plumbing left for home right after the inspection
Southland Framing started on the Porte Corche. They added a 2x6 on a slight slope at the top to give the roof a little pitch.
Moses Mechanical dropped down to the 3rd floor to work on their ducts.

All the MEPs are down on the 3rd floor getting ready for the inspection later this week. We're waiting on Chase to give us details about the corridors ceilings on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors.
Southland framers are working on the Porte Corche and front porch.
G&S Insulation is insulating the 4th floor walls. They didn't get it all done today. I've scheduled them to come back on Saturday the 14th to insulate the 3rd floor.
Tricon is rocking the ceilings on the 4th floor except for the ceilings that we have to leave open per Ron White, Conway building inspector.
Freedome Fire is putting caps on the ends of all their suppresion lines so that they can run an air pressure test.

Moses Mechanical is setting PTAC sleeves on the 4th floor. They're running duct in the attic for exhaust etc.

Southland framing is building fur outs around the exhaust fan duct work in the closets. They're framing the rest of the chase around the VTAC ducts on the 4th floor. They're putting in stair well blocking and hold downs in the sheer walls.
Tricon Drywall is fixing a spot in the 4th floor corridor where there was only one layer of 5/8s rock. They're putting RC channel on the ceiling of the rooms on the 4th floor.

We had our 4th floor MEP and framing inspection first thing this morning. There were some HVAC and fire suppression issues in the attic and some fire caulking issues with the low voltage and fire alarm people and Freedom Firepro that kep us from passing. Steps are being taken to remedy those problems. Electrical, Plumbing and Framing didn't have any issues.
Bailey is down on 3rd floor joining boxes and pulling wire.
Moses Plumbing is setting tubs on the 3rd floor and getting ready to set tub valves.
Moses Mechanical is finishing their duct work in the attic and putting in the vent for the laundry chute. Elite roofing came today to change out the roof curbs for Moses. Moses' guys dropped their pipe through and capped the curbs.
Canant Construction saw cut the parking lot today.
Tricon Drywall came in and rocked the top of the closets where the exhaust ducts run. They're putting RC channel on the 3rd floor ceilings.
Southland has a few guys here doing 4th floor punch and clean up.

NK Plastering is setting up scaffolding around the building. They’ll start with the foam tomorrow.
Southland’s framers are still working on the extended stay suites. They’re supposed to build part of the fur downs for the VTACs in the suites.
Nick Canant was over here to talk to John and Gary about pouring the north parking lot and the contract on the Searcy job.
Moses Mechanical is setting Ptac sleeves on the 3rd and 4th floor.
We cleaned all the loose material off of the north parking lot in preparation for Canant to pour concrete.

Bailey electric is running MC cable and setting boxes on the fourth floor. The owners want electrical outlets on either side of the middle steel beam in the meeting room for video projectors.
Moses Mechanical is setting Ptac sleeves and all plenums for Vtacs on the 4th floor and running duct for exhaust fans.
Moses Plumbing is doing their best to get their PVC run to the 4th floor. Mike is saying he’ll be ready for inspection on the 30th.
Tricon is putting pre rock in the meeting room and duct chases in the suites on the 4th floor.
NK Plastering is setting up scaffolding on the front and back of the building to get ready for EIFS
Canant Construction poured part of the sidewalk on the north side of the building. Jerime with Bailey and Todd with Advanced Sprinkler put sleeving under the sidewalk that enters the north side of the building.
Southland framers are working on the 4th floor extended stay suites. They are framing part of the duct chases for the suites. They built one of the walls at the top of the stair well. They need to take out a small wall on the 2nd floor at the north end of the corridor where the ice machine goes.
The owners and Alan and Joey met for about 5 hours.

City Inspector, Paul Young came by the site today with the state inspector, Tony Woodard. He is having us to add two more access panels in the 4th floor ceiling and 3 way, 4 way light switches to control attic lights. He needs us to make two exterior windows around the pool exhaust area, inoperable. Although he wasn’t entirely happy with some of the design issues, he approved everything that was looked at.
Magnum Materials delivered dry wall for the elevator shaft this morning. They’re storing 25 sheets per floor.
Canant Construction wrecked the forms on the sidewalk they poured yesterday and set more forms in the parking lot.
Southland framers are finishing sheathing and tyveking the exterior of the building. They’re wrapping up the framing in the rooms on the 4th floor and putting dead wood on the ceiling of the poor room for fur downs.
NK Plastering is having to redo scaffolding due to changes on the design of the exterior of the building. They started sticking foam on the back of the building.
Moses Mechanical is installing Ptac and Vtac sleeves and running duct for the bathroom exhaust.
Moses Plumbing is pushing everything through to the 4th floor.
Tricon is finishing pre rock in the duct chases and working on the elevator shaft.

NK Plastering is sticking foam on the front and back of the building.
Freedom Fire is setting sprinkler heads and the heights of their main on the 2nd 3rd and 4th floors. They set the sprinkler heads on the 4th floor 4 different times because the ceiling height changed several different times that day. They were very frustrated.
Tricon drywall is pre rocking the chases in the suites and elevator shaft. They have all of the chases fire taped and ready for the air ducts.

Bailey electric is on site. JR asked me abbout room 417. It's been changed from an accesible double queen to a lengthened souble queen and needed to know whether to follow the lay out for the accesible queen, or the regular double queen since we don't have a lay out for a lengthened queen. Chase said to go with the accesible lay out.
Moses Mechanical and Plumbing are on site.
Southalnds framing crew is here installing windows, decking the roof, taking down guard rails and finishing the outside sheathing.
Tricon's drywall creww is putting up pre rock. Nathan is supervising.
Freedom Firepro is on site moving and staging materials.

Bailey is on site with a full crew. I got copies of the CCTV placements. They got the sheet rockers to put rock up in the mechanical rooms so they could mount their boxes.
Moses Mechanical and Plumbing is here today. Mike has been in Little Rock the last two days. He'll be back here tomorrow.
Brian is needing cut sheets for the dryer vents so he can stub out for the vent.
Tricon's drywall crew is pre rocking the corriders.

Tricon's rockers are putting pre rock in the corridor on all floors.
Freedom Firepro is running PVC and iron pipe on the 1st floor.
Moses Mechanical and Plumbing are on site. Mechanical is running slow. The Plumbers are waiting on the framers to finish to extend stay suites.

We had a welder come out to look at adjusting some of the steel columns for the front porch.
Southland's framers are tyveking the exterior and putting in windows. They started building dormers for teh rof. They had one dormer set by the end of the day.
Bailey is on site with a full crew working. Jerime is putting up his boxes in the mechanical rooms.
Moses Plumbing and Mechanical is on site. Plumbing is pushing pipe up. Mike was in Little Rock today.
Mechanical is still running condesate lines for the Ptacs and Vtacs.
Freedom firepro is running they're main down the 1st floor corridor.
Canant Construction is setting forms in the North parking lot. Drew was the man in charge. He told methat they were allowing 1" fall from the building to the sidewalk and 1" fall from the side walk to top of curb. I didn't think that was right. I checked the plans and got with Drew about the correct elevations specified i nthe plans. So they are redoing some of their forms.
A fall protection specialist came by at Alex's request so that he and I could ask him some questions about harnesses and tying off.
Gary had the stomach cramps and was out most of the day.
Alex and I pulled measurements and set a string line that is square to the building and at the right dimension for the front porch posts.

Tony Butler and Pops with Pop's welding showed up to move columns for the front porch. they eneded up moving 12 of the little columns Friday and Saturday.
Southland's framers are building the rest of the dormers for the roof. They set another one and had the other two ready to go up. They're tyveking the outside of the building.
Moses Plumbing is in Little Rock today.
Bailey has their crew on site.
Freedom Firepro has their crew on site.
Alex, Gary and I spent most of the morning laying out the correct dimensions for the steel columns.
I field verified the measurements for the door throats.

Mike with Moses Plumbing said that he is very frustrated with the framing crew. They'er holding him up by not finishing the extended stay suites and the ADA bathroom that's framed wrong on the 1st floor. He'll be lucky to make the 1/30 deadline for inspection.
Tricon is being slowed down because Alex doesn't have details from Chase about the fir downs in the meeting rooms, Pool room, Breakfast room and Lobby and corridors.
The framers are woking on the extended stay suites on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors. They have a lot of work to do.
Mechanical is starting to set a few Ptac sleeves. They have a new guy here names Sean.
The curbs that Moses Mechanical set in the roof are not square at the top. They were manufactered for the wrong pitch. Moses is going to get the right ones out here.

Mike with Moses Plumbing said that he is very frustrated with the framing crew. They'er holding him up by not finishing the extended stay suites and the ADA bathroom that's framed wrong on the 1st floor. He'll be lucky to make the 1/30 deadline for inspection.
Tricon is being slowed down because Alex doesn't have details from Chase about the fir downs in the meeting rooms, Pool room, Breakfast room and Lobby and corridors.
The framers are woking on the extended stay suites on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors. They have a lot of work to do.
Mechanical is starting to set a few Ptac sleeves. They have a new guy here names Sean.
The curbs that Moses Mechanical set in the roof are not square at the top. They were manufactered for the wrong pitch. Moses is going to get the right ones out here.
Freedom Firepro is running their trunk in the attic. They have some of their orange lines are in the way of Moses' "p" traps and risers.
Magnum Materials delivered sme dry wall for the pre rockers.
NK Plastering had a couple of guys here to unload a truck of foam.
Bailey is up on the fourth floor running cable and setting boxes.
Nick Canant says if we can get al the materials off of the gravel, he'll pour concrete on Thursday.
I called Hugg and Hall to purchase some propane heaters for the building. They'll have to get them out of Springdale.

Trusses for the roof were delivered to the site on 12/30/08 and 12/31/08. The trusses delivered on the 30th were loaded very poorly. One bundle had a metal band strapped to the bundle below it and it broke a top cord. Southland framers worked over the weekend setting the trusses.

Weather: Cold and wet. 100% chance of rain, freezing rain and sleet. Highs in the mid 30s and falling throughout the day.
The 3rd and 4th floor have been icing over and getting dangerous.
Part of Southalnds framing crew was here this morning. Alex got here around noon and Oswaldo was about an hour behind him. The framers started rolling up about 3pm
Bailey's crew has been running home runs and putting temp lights up in the 3rd floor.
Moses Mechanical didn't get here until around noon because of the weather.
Moses Plumbing was here this morning and working all day.
Seaside pools showed up about noon and started working on the whirl pool.
1/6-7/09
Moses Mechanical and Plumbing have been here working. Plumbing is taking their plastic up. They have called in for an above ceiling inspection for the 1st floor. Mechanical is running sheet metal duct for exhaust fans.
Bailey is setting boxes and running home runs where they can. They're fire caulking in the first floor for everything below 8 ft.
Southland is setting piggy back trusses and building the stair case in the lobby.
